In our recent trip to Bangkok in September 2024, we stayed in the Japanese enclave and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves there. Situated in Sukhumvit Soi 49, we chanced upon a Tsukemen shop (cold ramen) called Shugetsu Ramen. Their Hong Kong outlet is listed on the Michelin Guide (Bib Gourmand) since 2014.
"Tsukemen is a ramen dish in Japanese cuisine consisting of noodles that are eaten after being dipped in a separate bowl of soup or broth." Wikipedia
Their noodles comes in different sizes starting from 100g to 400g. I chose Shugetsu Tsukemen, braised pork belly at 295bath. The sauce is soybased with a slight tanginess to it was gives it an extra kick and was thoroughly enjoyable. The noodles were springy in texture and had a nice bite to it. If you have a tiny belly like me, I recommend the smallest portion so that you can try other dishes on their menu.
